Range qualification requires 5 shots one handed at 3 yards, 10 shots two handed at 7 yards, and 10 shots two handed at 10 yards.  18 hits total required. If student fails the range qualification they can re-qualify.  We will provide additional gun training as required to qualify.  We understand some students will have little or no experience with handguns.  A 22cal pistol will be available for students who don’t have a handgun.  22cal ammo is included.

If you have your own gun and ammo you should bring it.  We will help you learn to shoot it if necessary.  Some small concealable handguns are difficult to shoot but far better to carry.  If you have one bring it and try it.  You can always qualify with one of our guns if necessary.  We highly recommend you get acquainted with your own gun if you already own one, or try one of ours before you purchase a new one.

No children, pets, guests, or family members, are allowed during the class.  Students only.

The rules are very strict and complicated as to who can legally handle a firearm.  If there is a felony of any kind or any domestic misdemeanors in your past please contact me ahead of time to discuss.  There is also information available at the Kansas Attorney General’s web site:  www.ksag.org.
